Rest in Peace Jim Morrison. 43 years ago today and still missed. A great hero of mine and I wish I could have seen him perform live. Here’s to the Lizard King.

I always enjoy doing these pics for obvious reasons but this time I had extra fun doing it thanks to this being a collaboration of sorts.  My fellow DA buddy Zoe Crockett AKA Cluedog agreed to let me use her artwork as the tattoos inked on the model and I think they looked great.  So thank you very much for letting me borrow your artwork for the making of this piece Zoe!

Hope you all enjoy.

IV’E GOT A PLAN, AND IT’S AS HOT AS MY PANTS!!!

British comedy pioneer Rik Mayall, known for his iconic roles in The Young Ones, Bottom, Drop Dead Fred and many more, tragically died this week at the age of just 56.  Rik was completely anarchic, always mischievous and larger than life and has been making people laugh for nigh on thirty years.  He was one of my favourite comedy actors, especially as Flashheart in Blackadder and as Richard Richard in Bottom.  I was extremely sad to hear of his death and I really wanted to pay tribute to the man, the myth, the legend and some of his best characters.

So here’s to you Rik.  Wherever you are now I’m sure you’re causing absolute chaos and anarchy.  WEVOLUTION!!!  WOOF!!!

Top: Richard Richard (Bottom), Rick (The Young Ones), Fred (Drop Dead Fred)
Middle: Lord Flashheart (Blackadder II), Captain Flashheart (Blackadder Goes Forth), Alan B’Stard (The New Statesman)
Bottom: Kevin Turvey (Kevin Turvey Investigates), Dad (Man Down), The Bombardier (Bombardier Adverts)

Rest in Peace Rik.  Thanks for making me laugh through the years.

Little poster of my favourite scene from one of my top ten favourite movies (number 5 to be exact).  I love everything about the film to be honest, but this line has always stuck with me.  It’s exactly the same sentiment I have towards all tertiary jobs.  I was a bartender for ten years and it’s amazing how much the film resonates beyond people who work in convenience stores.  I agree with everything Randal Graves says.  I am Dante Hicks, ever the martyr but never doing a thing about it.  Always be polite.

I’ve been trying to sketch more in general.  Ironically I’m too much of a slacker.

Hope you all like it.

I’ve been watching A LOT of wrestling lately, and this guy is my new favourite.  Watching the Wyatt Family, The Shield, Cesaro, Daniel Bryan and the majority of the NXT roster makes me feel like I’m 8 years old again and enjoying the hell out of it instead of being all smarky like I have been in the past few years.

So here’s to Bray Wyatt and the future of WWE.

Wolf Studios Art turned 1 today!  Has it been that long already?  I’ve hardly posted a thing!  I definitely need to get my arse in gear

Wow, it feels like I’ve been away forever.

Hope you’re all well and sorry for the decline in uploads.  This piece is just something simple within my comfort zone to keep in practice with my colouring and line work.  Hope you enjoy the return of Betsy Chairshot as well as the return of Nude and Tattooed!

Another stab at some minimalist movie poster artwork. This time depicting one of my favourite super hero film series of the past few years: Kick Ass. I love how it’s so wonderfully unashamed of what it is and it has some pretty cool characters. And the best thing about it for me is that it doesn’t take itself too seriously.

Show’s over, motherfuckers.

Fort Hylia is a happy and peaceful community in the heart of a lawless land. But there is talk of invasion. The barbaric Gerudo posse are riding a wave of terror through the neighbouring towns with murder on their minds. Along with plucky saloon girl Zelda, will Sheriff Link be able to stop the ruthless gang of bandits and send them back across the border?

A re-imagining of the Legend of Zelda, Spaghetti Western style. I’m currently working on a series of these based on various time periods and settings. Basically an excuse to draw loads of different outfits without worrying about the poses or colouring too much.

Hope you all like it as well as subsequent ones. Next up, we’re heading forward about forty years, donning our fedoras, lighting up a cigarette and turning off the lights.
